A Student's life is lot difficult than one can even imagine. With the world's advancement to ease life, the problems are increasing too.
In today's world a student manages a lot of other stuffs along with keeping up with good grades. But there are some rare species like me who are not for the rush. This one is for the laid back ones.
I know it can be difficult being around people who are constantly into their books all the time, making notes, panicking about topping the class. This can sometime make you feel like you're wasting your life even though you are not into the rat race and it is not your priority. But that's okay, it happens. Don't loose your cool.
This attitude of mine has come from my father who is a Scientist C in a government institute. One would assume that he wanted me to be a scientist as well. But he never even forced me to get an A+. All he ever asked me to do was learn from everything possible. Gain knowledge as much as you can, even from the worst class. You always have stuff to learn from the negatives too if you see carefully.
Marks are of course important to get into good institutions but that doesn't mean you will forcefully study. That is of no good. It will only exhaust you and make you hate studies even more. I am an athlete and a dancer (nope, not professional) and I have hated studying with all my heart since childhood until now. Yes, I no more hate studying. It is because I don't force myself instead I enjoy it.
I know that sounds ridiculous but that's true and definitely didn't happen overnight. I study only an hour twice a day. I am not a topper and neither do I long for that. But till I have knowledge that I can apply I am good to go. I don't memorise each and every line for the exam, I try to read and understand. Understanding at once might not be easy, so read again and again till you actually get what does the sentence mean. The more you read the more you will understand. How does this work? Well, when you understand something you might not use the bookish words but you surely can answer the questions in your own words. Studying doesn't mean only the books meant for syllabus but reading other books also helps. So start with 30 minutes. And then when you get used to your new timetable increase it.
I know it's hard to convince yourself to get up and study even for whole 5 minutes but gaining a little knowledge and being able to get good marks won't do any bad either.
If there are parents reading this please make this their habbit not because they have to score high but because education is important.
